Covered Wagon – thank you creative commons.

I fell off the wagon.

What happened? A combination of things happened, the first day I forgot,  got too busy the next, was interrupted by more important work and on and on.   Yes, I know that one day at a time works. It is part of the 12 step programs but this is a part of the 30-day program.

Writing a blog is the Ultimate Blog Challenge, it is a habit put in place for my benefit, by me, by people who know how to make social media work.  I fell off the wagon.  Was I not hanging on tight enough, were my commitments a bit un –  committed, and was I just plain lazy?

All of the above.

Hanging on tight when you are traveling on the wagon. When the wagon rides on top of cobblestones, it jostles you around. The road is bumpy and the ruts are deep. It is easy to be thrown off.  I was thrown off by my own topics. Writing in a casual conversational manner at first, I thought, this is fun but not productive. What should I really be writing about?  Then realized I do have a topic, I do have a focus.  The cobblestones were my topics, right in front of me; Jostling me about. I’ll write about having a power presence, being a power manager and being a power professional.   Those cobblestones will continue to jostle, and halt, and throw me off but, I’ll hang on tight.

Now I’m committed, I had to look at the bigger picture. What is the purpose of this experience? I won’t use the word exercise, although, I know it works from a mindless routine standpoint.  Exercise/write/bathe for 30 days straight and it becomes a habit.

This is an experience in communication.  I was surprised that one of you wonderful people actually read my blog and made a comment.  Holy cow!  The conversation, the response was heartwarming and encouraging.  I thank you.

I have to admit – There were a few days when I was just plain lazy.  How much good does that do?  Not a drop, not an ounce of good.  Some days, I think this is a pull up your bootstraps experience, or maybe miss a few hours’ sleep or in a more logical way, actually plan ahead.

After all, I own Advanta Strategies, LLC … because having a strategy is your advantage

Clearly, I didn’t create one for myself in the Ultimate Blog Challenge.  Back on the wagon.  The ride is still bumpy and jostling.
