It wasn’t my fault!
It wasn’t my fault the computer network went down. It wasn’t my fault that I started the post after 8:00 pm and had to be up at 5:00 am the next day. It wasn’t my fault….it wasn’t my fault.
I’ve had to learn that everything is my fault and my responsibility.
My responsibility was to keep my commitment to writing a daily blog, and again – off the wagon onto the cobblestones.
This is what I do know. It is my responsibility – all of it. My computer failure was a failure of the router. At 9:00 pm after I wrote the blog and couldn’t post it, I crashed. I just didn’t want to deal with the dismantling and reinstalling all the hardware and software, which in my mind’s eye at 9:00 pm would take at least an hour. I was going to bed.
The fact. After I returned from my 7:00 am meeting at 11:30 am, It took 5 minutes. All of 5 minutes to unplug, re-plug and turn it on; everything worked. Really? At 10:00 pm nothing works that fast.
Fact 2 – I coulda, woulda, shoulda started the blog earlier in the day and it would have been done, Face my facts, sometimes I procrastinate, it is my responsibility.
It wasn’t my fault is a lie to ourselves all the time. It is a tough thought to consider but it is true. Our choices make it our fault all the time.
