AWE a book by dacher keltner
“In Awe, Dacher Keltner presents a radical investigation and deeply personal inquiry into this elusive emotion. Revealing new research into how awe transforms our brains and bodies, alongside an examination of awe across history, culture, and within his own life during a period of grief, Keltner shows us how cultivating awe in our everyday life leads us to appreciate what is most humane in our human nature. “
I just started reading this book – a friend linked me to a podcast interview with Dacher Keltner. I was fascinated. As a designer and artist, I am captivated by great design. I feel in awe when I see a beautiful painting or sculpture. and I’m in awe as I read this book. Memories of other experiences, especially awe, surface. Some give me chills, and others warm lovely memorable experiences.
It has reminded me so far to pay attention.
Notice what you’re noticing: the goosebumps, the chill, the recognition that more is happening.
The surprise is that AWE is a surprise. It can’t be created, cultivated, or recognized in a specific scientific setting.
I’m excited as I continue to read AWE. If interested, check it out through this affiliate link: https://amzn.to/3J46lXi. Happy reading!”.
