I recently met a woman who shared this story. She was an outstanding salesperson and did very well in her industry. She traveled the world as part of her job, was financially independent, and was single. She got along well with men but hadn’t met anyone that “clicked” as part of her work. And being as successful as she was, she spent most of her time working. After attending a “find your match” seminar that suggested that she pursue her interests, she signed up for sailing lessons—pursuing her interests.
She called an acquaintance who she knew was a boat person for lessons. He wasn’t available, but he knew someone who was. She took classes, loved it, participated in the sailing club, and went out on a few dates. It was the first call she had made to her acquaintance that ultimately clicked.
Fast forward, they married. They chose to adopt since both of them were over thirty-five and considered old to start a family. Today, two children are delighted to share their lives and grow up in a sailing family.
